The Australian Midwifery Standards Assessment Tool is freely available for use in practice settings to assess students and graduates. The AMSAT has been determined to be a valid, reliable and acceptable tool to assess student workplace performance. This can assist benchmarking across midwifery programs. The testing of the AMSAT has now been completed. Analysis of 150 AMSAT forms indicate the AMSAT as: reliable - Cronbach alpha greater than 0.9 valid - data extraction loaded predominantly onto one factor sensitive - scores indicating level of proficiency increased across 3 years We would like to thank all the midwives who were involved in the testing process. An electronic medium for inputting the data is also being developed. Linda.Sweet@flinders.edu.au Amanda.Henderson@health.qld.gov.au |
