AMSAT is a private sector NOT FOR PROFIT organisation with public sector accountability. Incorporated in 1991, AMSAT is owned by its members which comprise Australia’s leading marine environment and resource development and management agencies and those with a broad policy or operational interest in this field.

Our structure and relationships with our member agencies means that not only can we support their commercial imperatives (where appropriate), but we also provide a cost-effective means to build and promote important regional and inter-agency relationships.

AMSAT provides the international market with ready access to world-renowned scientists, technicians and managers, state of the art technology, leading edge research, high end data processing, innovative IT systems and training facilities/capabilities. We provide a one-stop shop for Australian capabilities through our extensive public and private sector networks, coupled with our outstanding in-house project management capabilities.

Technical and consulting expertise is provided by our member agencies or drawn from our extensive network of strategic partners in the university sector, state government sector and private consultants. AMSAT also has well established regional partnerships with well regarded universities and private companies whose skills and philosophies complement our own.
