MISSION STATEMENT

AMSAT's mission is to improve the sustainable management and development of the Indo - Pacific marine environment and its resources.

AMSAT is committed to:

• developing long term institutional and personal relationships with its partners in the Indo - Pacific region;
• professionalism, quality and integrity in the management of its relationships and activities; and
• the principles of equal opportunity and the professional and personal development of its staff

AMSAT's principal operational objective is to provide the link between marine research and industry in support of sustainable development.

To achieve this, AMSAT partners with its member agencies and facilitates linkages with other Australian, regional and international donors, governments and institutions. It conceives targeted programs, identifies funding sources and implements project activities throughout the Indo - Pacific region.

AMSAT provides project leadership and management, and training and technology transfer to support the capacity building required to successfully address emerging coastal and marine resource management and development issues.

AMSAT:

• acts as a single point of contact for international clients seeking to access the skill and services of consortium members.
• fosters joint ventures with the private sector to undertake international marine environment and resource development and management projects.
• co-ordinates members' international consulting efforts.
• pursues international consulting and collaborative R and D opportunities on behalf of its members.
• provides a quality total project management service to ensure successful project implementation.
